Welcome Kendra!!19 Jan 2007: Julie, Jim, Nathan and Kendra arrived back in Rochester at about 11pm. Nathan was fast asleep, but Kendra was wide awake and charmed us all! She's got quite the stare! The family is well, but tired, and happy to be back home in Rochester. See below for Julie and Jim's note from Guatemala. I'll be posting photos soon! P.S. And by "soon" I mean like right now! See below for the photos... Note from Julie and Jim, 15 Jan 2007: Hola from Guatemala!! We now have a new addition to our family... . Kendra Alvarez Lee. She is BEAUTIFUL but can she CRY!!!!! Nathan had a wonderful time on the flight on the way down and didn't know what to think of his new sister. He is giving her a lot of love, including many tight hugs and kisses and is really helping out with taking care of her. We are definitely in transition with her. She cried all evening until 10 pm and then fell asleep out of exhaustion. Then Jim and I did as well. She did sleep all night. This morning was better until she remembered what was going on. We are figuring it all out but it takes time, no surprise. We called Nathan peanut when we first got his referral because he was so small. Kendra's nickname is Tanker. You won't believe the thighs and wrists this girl has on her!!! There are many others in the hotel adopting so we enjoy sharing stories with everyone. It's quite a sight to see all these families with little Guatemalan children. The weather is absolutely gorgeous and we hope to get out to the zoo soon. Otherwise we work on just eating, sleeping and getting to know our new little girl. Hope all is well with all of you. Can't wait to see you and for you to meet Kendra. Love to all of you, Julie, Jim, Nathan and Kendra |
