When:
Where: Yellow Rock Pavilion in
This year the Howe Reunion was a Lobdell Reunion, as only the Charles and Marjorie (Howe) Lobdell branch of the family was represented. In previous years a member of one of the other branches (who shall go nameless but has the initials DJH) managed to attend, but this individual was unable to attend this year. I don't know how it was possible, but the attendees seemed to have a good time, even without this individual!
Attending the reunion were:
Don, Coralee, Meghan, Katie, Tom DeMouth
Dennis and Kathy Patenaude, Ben Wright
Rick, Rowan, Emma and Hannah Schockner
George, Leslie, Frank, Joe, Mary Ellen, Billie Ann, George, and Helen Walter
| Received the following letter from Jean McCasland today (July 18, 2008):
Dear Family, I heard several requests for a family reunion and that it is time! The date is August 16th [2008] at Yellow Rock Pavilion in John Boyd Thacher State Park near Albany. The pavilion is covered, not closed in, has electricity, water, grills and bathroom. The swimming pool is closed for repairs. There are swing sets, horse shoe pits, and volley ball court. The car entry fee is included in the $200 fee for the day. Pets have to be leashed. There is quite a bit of history in the park. There are several walking trails. I thot that we could meet at the site after 10am. Enjoy coffee and goodies. Have a pot luck dinner around one, and visit & visit until park closes at sundown. I believe there is no fridge, stove or running water at the pavilion, so bring coolers or crockpots -- own silverware and drinks. Kathy and Dennis helped chose Howard Johnson Motel at 1614 Central Avenue, Albany. There is a pool. Call 518-869-0281 for 'Howe' reservation at $75.00 plus tax for 2 bed room. The sooner the better! Exit 2W off Northway to reach motel. I suggest pizza ? or whatever for evening pool party. There are 2 restaurants nearby to enjoy breakfast together. If it rains, we can pick another date in this season so as not to lose the $200 deposit. Doesn't this sound like fun? Hope to see you there. With love, Jean |
